NEW ARTIST SARAH KHATAMI RELEASES DEBUT SINGLE AND MUSIC VIDEO, “DARKNESS”
BOSTON, MA, August 11, 2017 — Emerging young pop/R&B artist, Sarah Khatami released her debut single, “Darkness,” this week on iTunes and all streaming platforms including Spotify and Apple Music, as well as Amazon and Google Play. The haunting and heart wrenching ballad was written by Sarah and produced by Nate Campisi, featuring instrumental musicians Nicole Myers and Lim Wei (Blue Man Group, Sam Roberts Band, and Trace Adkins).
“Darkness” is the first single from Sarah’s upcoming, self-titled EP, a blend of R&B, pop, and hip hop sounds. The music video, released today and filmed at Mr. Small’s Recording Studio in Sarah’s hometown of Pittsburgh, is available on YouTube.
The talented musician, singer, and songwriter plays the piano and the ukulele and can sing in both English and her mother tongue Persian. Sarah boasts an emotive and powerful voice with a unique, improvisational flair. She is inspired and influenced by great artists like Fiona Apple, Norah Jones, and Lianne La Havas, and renowned Persian musicians like Googoosh. Sarah is a rising junior at Berklee College of Music, where she majors in songwriting.
“Darkness” was written about Sarah’s difficult experience dealing with depression and anxiety. She hopes its release will help others who are coping with the same issues.
