Born and raised in the countryside of a little football town named Kannapolis North Carolina, 15 miles
north of Charlotte, this New years newborn knew his destiny was to reach people with the character and
personality conveyed thru the art of singing. Starting at the young age of 4 years old, in a small family
church, on an old dusty road, this young man grew into a powerful crooner with the soul of a leader, who
understands communication and created a sound that may be a little different from what the ear is
accustomed.

His previous work circa 1997-2005, started with forming a 4 part group in 1997, that went by the name of
D.A.J.E’. Along with TR group members consisted of Paul (DUJII) Vannoy, Travis “LEO” Lancaster, and
best friend Adrian “A.J” Lott. Rugged, gritty styles and smooth harmonies over thick robust tracks that
just seeped with southern soul, the group was able to gained an audience after debuting at Charlotte’s
WEST FEST,(Tryon St, downtown Charlotte NC, 1998 verified) sharing the same stage as Seven Mile &
Jagged Edge were headlining on the card and in front of an enormous crowd, DAJE’ proved to the
people that they were worthy of being associated and definitely in the conversation to be with the best. At
that time after signing a contract for management, at the time Punchline Entertainment, which later on
became Next Level Ent.., DAJE seemed primed & ready for a good run in the quartet hip-hop r & b soul
market. however, creative direction & differences lead to the groups break-up and that opened the door
for member’s to branch off and work on solo projects. Moving forward Aaron Simmons, owner &
president of Punchline Entertainment, and TR came up with the idea and concept of The full length LP
“Feel This”, and came with a fresh idea packaged along with changing the name to Next Level
Entertainment formerly Punchline Ent.,, and give the label a fresh new start, or “re”fresh. Feel this was a
10 track LP which was laced with big heavy drums, southern soul bass lines and rhythm’s along with
smooth harmonies and placements that struck a certain chord in your soul and you can appreciate the
stories and characters in the songs. Feel This was an underground regional smash with 3 singles on the
local station (WPEG 98 FM). While singles “Xtacy” (ala, Jodeci, STAY), Mackology (ala, Dave Hollister),
and “Down Again” (ala, Case Touch Me Tease Me) were in heavy rotation, the Next Level Entertainment
label out of Charlotte grew constant attention and notoriety as he learned how to bring a traditional soul
feeling to the city and surrounding areas. To even further create and build an audience TR had the
opportunity to share the stage with superstar John Legend, Feb 5 2005 (AMOS SOUTH
END,CHARLOTTE NC, verified). Following that performance, the next following months would be
significant for his career as he also opened for Grammy award nominees Floetry April 4 2005,(OVENS
AUDITORIUM, CHARLOTTE NC, verified)& Lyfe Jennings March 14 (BIG CHILL, CHARLOTTE NC,
verified). Once again, those 3 performances alone grabbed the attention of execs from Hidden Beach
Records, Columbia, Interscope and many mores as the LP Feel This was gaining major independent
traction and steam in the surrounding area.

Stepping away from music scene for a while, after an almost 15 year hiatus, TR is back for a solo EP
titled “Blaq KANvas”, with an ode to his hometown Kannapolis with the “KAN” in Kanvas. With smooth
harmonies, big hooks, chunky gritty rugged drums and tambourine’s and humble & smooth bass lines
this southern sound will keep you tuned in as the characters of each lyric come to life, and the “re”
emergence of that old traditional sounds coupled with a fresh lyrical rhyme pattern and cadences, Blaq
KANvas will take a life of its own, right before your very ears…..
