Ohio rapper Starchild Kayla was born Kayla Ransom in 2000 in Dayton, Ohio. With a love for music at a young age, Kayla often sang, wrote lyrics and learned to play the piano and guitar by the age of 15. Kayla’s father decided to invest in her talents by purchasing a microphone, midi keyboard and the latest version of FL Studio. Kayla took it upon herself to learn the new program and started the rap group known as “Lotus Team”. In 2016 they released their first track titled “Hand Outs”. Due to different life choices, the group split early 2017 but the name stuck to her. She later registered “Lotus Team Entertainment” as her own production company releasing songs like “In My Bag” & “Nonsense” under the label. Starchild Kayla is actively performing live shows across the United States at events like SXSW in Austin, Texas and Lipstick on the Mic in Chicago, Illinois and also has performed at clubs such as Club Nirvana in Louisville, Kentucky and The Mad Frog in Cincinnati, Ohio. When Starchild Kayla is not performing, she is recording, writing, composing, and producing studio projects for various artists.
